Generation Study Abroad with Toucan Education Programs
Toucan Education Programs
(TEP) and its team want to make a positive impact on the number of American students who study abroad. Not only are we aiming to increase the number of students who study abroad, we are specifically targeting underrepresented students who are less likely to study abroad.
The Institute of International Education
(IIE) embraced a bold initiative known as Generation Study Abroad
(GSA) to double the number of American students who study abroad by the end of the decade. TEP is proud to be a partner in this initiative and equally excited to take action to expand study abroad opportunities for underrepresented students. International education is no longer a luxury but a critical component of a cutting edge 21st century education. TEP
aims to inspire underrepresented students to demand more study abroad opportunities from their home institutions. TEP aims to educate underrepresented students on the importance of international education and empower them to overcome those perceived barriers that often keep them from studying abroad.
TEP’s infographic ‘Expanding Study Abroad Opportunities for Underrepresented Students’
summarizes statistics from IIE’s Open Doors Report and highlights those groups of students who are currently underrepresented in the field of international education. Additionally, the infographic highlights TEP’s underrepresented student targets, our action to reach those students, and new program
options to meet the needs of our GSA
